Sick Of It All Frontman Lou Koller hat in einem Interview mit Pod Scum etwas gesagt, dass wir gerne als die Nachricht eines neuen Albums interpretieren wollen (das ganze Interview könnt ihr euch am Ende des Artikels anschauen).
So hat er, auf die Frage ob sie nicht im nächsten Jahr ein paar Anniversary-Shows zu Ehren des 30sten Jubiläums von Scratch The Surface spielen wollen, geantwortet, dass er kein Freund davon ist eine solche Show zu spielen, wenn gerade ein neues Album draußen ist.
Darum interpretieren wir einfach mal, dass uns da was in 2024 erwartet. So klingt das übrigens in Lou´s Worten:
Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking. I wish we had put it out this year — worked on it over COVID and put it out this year — because 2024 is the 30th anniversary of ‚Scratch The Surface‘. So now some festivals are asking us just to come and play ‚Scratch The Surface‘, which is great, but I don’t like doing that if we have a new record out. We did it once in Texas for the Fun Fun Fun Fest. I think it was, like, the 20th anniversary of ‚Scratch The Surface‘ and the 25th anniversary of our first album, so we did a combination of those two records. But we had a new album out at the time. I’d rather play a set mix of everything.
Die NYHC-Urgesteine haben zuletzt ihr Studio-Album Wake The Sleeping Dragon (Review) veröffentlicht, was bereits ganze fünf Jahre zurück liegt. Wobei das nicht ganz richtig ist, denn zwischendurch erschien noch die Bandbiografie Blut und Schweiß (Review) von Lou und Pete.
