Slapshot werden nächstes Jahr ihre Boots an den Nagel hängen. Die Band aus Boston kündigte an, dass 2025, pünktlich zum 40-jährigen Bestehen, ihr letztes Jahr auf der Bühne sein wird.
Bevor es soweit ist, planen Slapshot jedoch noch eine ausgiebige Abschiedstournee in Europa und den USA, um sich gebührend zu verabschieden.
Bleibt zu hoffen, dass die Band um Frontmann Jack „Choke“ Kelly noch vor ihrem Rückzug das bereits länger angekündigte Album veröffentlicht. Den Nachfolger von Make America Hate Again (2018) stellte Slapshot bereits im Frühjahr 2022 in Aussicht.

After 40 unforgettable years, we, SLAPSHOT, are announcing our retirement in 2025. This decision comes after an incredible journey filled with passion, hard work,trials and tribulations and a lot of fun.
Since our formation in 1985, we have poured our hearts into every show, creating music that reflects our experiences, struggles, and triumphs. The connections we’ve made with our fans and the hardcore community have been nothing short of amazing.
As we prepare to hang up our boots, we want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has been a part of this journey. The memories we’ve made together will last a lifetime. We look forward to seeing you on the road and celebrating our legacy one last time. We are currently booking US and European tours in the hopes to say goodbye properly to you all.
