The Bouncing Souls haben mit Volume 2 ein neues Album angekündigt, bei dem die Punk-Rock-Combo aus New Jersey zehn Songs aus ihrer mittlerweile über 30-jährigen Bandgeschichte neu aufgenommen hat.
Neben den Neuaufnahmen enthält Volume 2 mit World On Fire auch ein brandneuen Songs, den die Band bereits vor einigen Wochen veröffentlichte. Mit Ghosts On The Boardwalk präsentierten uns The Bouncing Souls mit Ankündigung des neuen Albums auch eine erste Neuaufnahme, die ihr am Ende des Beitrags gemeinsam mit der Tracklist und das Cover-Artwork findet.
Volume 2, das von Will Yip (The Menzingers, Title Fight, Tigers Jaw) produziert wurde, wird dann am 23. Oktober 2020 über Pure Noise Records erscheinen.
Gitarrist Pete Steinkopf zur Idee:
„We initially wanted to recreate some of the stripped-down vibe of the acoustic sets, but if anything, these versions are much more involved than the original versions. The first day we got to the studio Will said something like ‘we’re not gonna just make an acoustic record, right guys?’ We were like ‘hell no’ and then we were off to the races.”
Sänger Greg Attonito fügt hinzu:
„Many of the songs we recorded have been around for twenty years or more and we’ve played them thousands of times. It was really satisfying to bring 30 years of experience to these recordings. We knew the songs inside and out so it was fun to stretch them out a bit and see what happened.“
Die letzte Veröffentlichung der Bouncing Souls stammt mit der EP Crucial Moments aus dem Jahr 2019.
